hrough interviews with workers in the hospitality and tourism industries, my experience of escapism and wellness as a central mechanism in the travel and ourism sector, is juxtaposed with the local workers’ stories - seemingly completely at one with their surroundings, and in no need of escape. My own desperate attempts at confronting my personal anxieties are woven in, engaging with western capitalist appropriation of eastern spiritual wisdoms in a tone that is as ironic as it is genuine.
